The July 2007 Loot Crate has a good spread of shows going into it–no doubling up here. There are items from Rick and Morty, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bob’s Burgers, and Futurama in the package. All are of good quality, and there’s no single big ticket item.
Having no outstanding item means that there is nothing in the crate that feels particularly skimped on, and the crate has a good number of items. Of course, it also means that there is no outstanding article to make your little geek heart beat that much faster. With that out of the way, what is in the crate and how does it measure up?
The clever item in here is the Bob’s Burger recipe box which holds a substantial collection of recipes for exceedingly eccentric–but edible–burgers that you can make for your friends and family. A considerable amount of thought went into this one.
Then there is the T-shirt, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt in dark green (a break from the more generic black often chosen). It has a great shell pattern on the front, plus an image of the Turtles in their van. Loot Crate T-Shirts overall have impressed me with the staying power of their images, so anyone wearing this should have at least a year of Turtling before the image fades too much to be recognized.
And then there is Rick giving the galaxy the universal symbol of–peace. Yes, let’s go with that, peace. The figure is well-made with attention to detail; the hands even have fingers other than the one being displayed.
The August theme is “Kingdom.” Sounds like fun!
By the way, we’d love to hear about your experiences with the Loot Crate items. Did you make any of the burgers from Bob’s Burgers? Did you serve them to your friends, and what did they think?
