Being in the hospital is terrible, but it can be even more miserable when you’re a small child. UK-based organization Little Heroes has set out to make that experience less miserable by providing comic making kits to children in hospitals and healthcare organizations.
Little Heroes started in March 2017 when the founder, Aaron Rackley, wanted to do something to give back to the hospital that helped him battle cancer. He set up a JustGiving account and planned to make 100 comic making kits. The comic book community and the medical field appreciated the idea so much Little Heroes became an official charity to create more kits and help more kids.
The charity has raised over £10,000 (about $13,000) which has helped them send out several hundred kits. They released an anthology with stories from various creators who donated their work for free to support the charity on Kickstarter. The second anthology is coming soon, as are more comic making kits.
