Adventure Time has influenced so many new shows, started the paths of so many writers and creators, and was such a big cosplay draw at conventions for years. Now that the show is over, Cartoon Network has created an absolutely beautiful send off with the DVD Complete Series of Adventure Time.
This set is 22 discs, y’all. It has all 238 episodes and comes in The Enciridion. The set contains a 25-page storybook with a center piece pop-up showing all the beloved characters. In the collector’s box set there’s an bonus disc with hours of exclusives and they are lovely. “I’ve got a weird feeling in my fat basket” because of how magical this is.
The special features affect “the pump and bumps” of my heart. The Farewell Tour features an introspective featuring the story board artists, voice actors, writers. There are tons of cosplay and fan pictures in this which was so amazing to see. The Sonic Sounds of Ooo goes into the strange music of the show. There’s a Minecraft special called Diamonds and Lemons. There’s an entire music video to “Come Along With Me” with storyboard art that is highly enjoyable.
It is so sad to see such a fantastic show end, but this is a good send off. Real talk, I cried listening to the cast sing “Come Along With Me.”
