For one night in July, the Japan club dance scene will be in Los Angeles.
Here is chance to experience the dynamic sounds of J-pop, dance, and hip hop beyond the mobile and television screen . Produced by the collaborative efforts of Otaquest and LDH, an explosion of superstars will be at the Novo in L.A. Live on July 3, 2019. All in time for Anime Expo 2019 (July 4, 2019 – July 7, 2019).
Otaquest is a web platform of of Japanese pop culture: anime, music, video games, fashion and fan culture. LDH USA, Inc brings in their powerhouse of musical artists (including EXILE, J Soul Brothers III, GENERATIONS) and operations (EXPG Dance in New York and Los Angles, jewelry and apparel brands). With their bold philosophy of “LOVE, DREAM, HAPPINESS,” they aim to bring live shows in Japan to to the US.
The night will be in two events: Otaquest Live and Otaquest Kickoff. Each event will be ticketed separately with premium seating options and Meet-n-Greet opportunities:

m-flo
This hip hop trio made up of Taku, VERBAL and LISA was established in 1998. After several solo projects, the group just reunited in 2018 in time to to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Over the last decade, m-flo has sold over 2 million copies of their 30 singles and 10 albums
CAPSULE
This is a duo group of Yasutaka Nakata and Toshiko Koshijima. A great resource of background on the group can be found on Otaquest HERE.
This will be CAPSULE’s first ever North American appearance.

Hiroomi Tosaka is another member of EXILE, specifically one of the vocalists for Sandaime J Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe. His style is more soulful R&B style. For those who have been watching Terrace House on Netflix, he was one of the commentators on Terrace House: Boys xGirls Next Door and Terrace House: Closing Door.

Taku Takahashi, one third of m-flo. will be making a second appearance in the night to showcase his electro-pop DJ music. He is most notable for remixing music for Persona 5 and Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. He has produced music with Calvin Harris, The Ting Tings, Morgan Page, and SMAP. He has also launched Japan’s first and only Dance Music Radio Station, “block.fm,” in 2011.

Yasuktaka Nakata is a leading figure in Japanese electro-dance scene. He has a large discography of music of distorted sounds and creating a kind of “kawaii” electro music. He has launched the CAPSULE, produced music for mega girl group, Perfume and for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. He has re-mixed music for m-flo, ZEDDm Steve Aoki, and Kylie Minogue. He has even provided music for the 2016 Rio Olympics closing ceremonies. His additional contributions has also been co-producing music with JJ Abrams on Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Teddyloid is a heavy hitter in the anime DJ music scene with hits involved with Vocaloid, Panty and Stockings with Garterbelt. He has even re-mixed music with mega group, Momoiro Clover Z.
He was the chief DJ and sound producer for recording artist, MIYAVI, during his World tour. In 2011 he joined forces with musicians, Kou Shibasaki and DECO*27, to form the musical unit. galaxias!, and subsequently released an album with them. He was the sound engineer for the single, “Neo STARGATE,” on the 2013 album by pop idol group Momoiro Clover Z and later produced the group’s first official remix album, Re: MOMOIRO CLOVER Z.
In 2014, TeddyLoid went solos with BLACK MOON RISING. and then SILENT PLANET, a collaboration featuring artists including Yasutaka Nakata of CAPSULE, HISASHI (GLAY), Tetsuya Komuro, Ryohei Shima (the dress codes), and Ayaka Sasaki (Momoiro Clover Z). In 2016, released of the SILENT PLANET 2EP series digitally, as a sequel to his previous album. This effort featured artists such as KOHH, Bonjour Suzuki, CHANMINA, AiNA THE END (BiSH), and K Dub Shine, among others.
