Comedian Shalewa Sharpe’s new comedy album, So You Just Out Here?, titled after a strange encounter she had working the night shift. Whether it’s accidentally burning seasoning sage in your home, hiding at your desk, or trying to educate her coworkers on racism, Sharpe’s discussions are timely as well as funny. Keep in mind, there are many adult themes in this album, so maybe don’t listen to it on full volume at work or with a kid. One of my personal favorite moments in the album is when she’s discussing people being incredibly awkward during her grieving the loss of her parents. The line goes, “I’m just waiting on a bagel and you have handed me an exisential crisis. You can’t put butter on that.”
Shalewa Sharpe is funny and her performance on dating reminded me of the cringe-worthy messages from my dating days. So You Just Out Here? Is available now.
