Someone is preying on young girls in Southern California. By using social media apps, a demon is finding his way into teenagers’ heads and causing them to kill themselves and others. Angel Volume One: Being Human takes place before Angel goes to Sunnydale to meet Buffy, but shows Angel meeting a few figures that later become well known in the show.
Angel Volume One: Being Human takes some adjusting to. As a former diehard Buffy fan, the timing is still a little jarring. I understand that the storylines are bound to change with the comic series, but it took a minute to adjust. Gleb Melnikov’s are is gorgeous, as is the coloration by Gabriel Cassata and Roman Titov. The title pages are gorgeous.
