Actress Lauren Graham has been cast in a lead role on the new Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks. She will star as Alex, while actor Brady Noon will play her son, Evan. The show began production in Vancouver this month on 10 episodes, highlighting the 1990’s franchise that briefly lead to a professional NHL team of the same name (I’m that old, you guys). The show will take place in modern day Minnesota, with the Mighty Ducks moving from “scrappy underdogs” to a competitive powerhouse youth team. When Evan gets cut from the team, he and his mom build a team up of misfits to compete.
Lauren Graham is probably best known for her time on Gilmore Girls, but she’s a highly accomplished actress in many other show and films. Brady Noon was recently in the show Good Boys.
The Mighty Ducks is expected to premiere later this year on Disney+
