Tank Girl Full Color Classics #6 came out on February 12th and it’s a cover to cover melee of inappropriateness and mayhem. I LOVE IT!

If you ever picked up a Tank Girl comic then you know what you are in for; Nudity. Swearing. Bouncy Houses? That’s a new one. This collection has only a few stories but is interspersed with other madness such as an almanac that brings you such amazing seasons like Drug Season, Sex Season and The Mean Season.  Each season comes with it’s own little calendar that I’ll let you read on your own. I can’t even repeat some of the things I found there.

Between these covers you’ll also get a glimpse in the 1994 movie that starred Lori Petty and Naomi Watts. The movie was pretty much a flop, but is considered a cult hit by fans, and seeing the behind the scenes pics is a lovely added bonus.  The photos include both the original author and artist of the comics, and shows them seeming to have a good time on set.

In this collection you get Morning Glory, Booga’s Luck, and an untitled story that was originally published by Whizzer and Chips in 1978. Each story has it’s own brand of insanity, which is exactly what the comic was known for when it was originally published. You never know what you will get, except of course that you know you will get crude humor, violence and nudity.  The comic was built on those attributes and that was how it hooked it’s readers, new and old.

If you’ve never read a Tank Girl comic, you should. The irreverence and the crazy make it a fun read. You can see the love the creators have for their characters in every panel.  It may not be safe for work, but the best things aren’t.
