On February 19, 2020, the trade collection of Lab Raiders from Black Mask will be released into the wild. The comic focuses on two women who want to change the world; Jeanette and Sarah. Their method of choice is to rescue animals. The goal is that no one gets hurt, but Jeanette and Sarah have both seen some serious bloodshed. After hitting one particular lab, the two stumble upon weaponized creatures that have been bred and designed ala Doctors Moreau and Frankenstein. This collection gathers issue 1-4.
Be prepared for some pretty strange images and the disconnect that Jeanette and Sarah find themselves in when it comes to human beings getting hurt. This is definitely not a kids comic; there’s a good deal of language, one character involved in serious drug use, and some pretty horrific images of a few animals being experimented on. The comic is written by Matt Miner, illustrated by Crees Lee, and colored by Joshua Jensen.
