Decorum is the story of a universal assassin known for, well, her good manners. This is a universe where a plague was intentionally released because treatment required money repairs and those who could not afford simply died. A young courier is called to bring in a secret order for a rush job and finds herself in the middle of a soon to be blood bath with our assassin, Imogen Smith-Morley.
Be aware, there are many moving parts in Decorum. The backstory involves religious organizations colonizing the stars, so be prepared for a brief history lesson. Jonathan Hickman writes a brilliant character in Morley. If you like someone who is as particular about manners as Hannibal Lecter in Space, you’re going to be in good with Decorum.
Mike Huddleston’s art in Decorum #1 is stunningly beautiful, even though portions are occasionally violent. The coloration and watercolor style slowed me down while reading because I needed to take a few moments just to take it all in. Stop and look at the planets. Stop and look at the people.
