Stephan Franck, best known for his graphic novel Silver, as well as his work on Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse and Marvel Cinematic’s WHAT IF? series has a new four part neo noir graphic novel coming soon. Palomino is part of a new Kickstarter campaign set up by Franck’s and his company Dark Planet Comics.
Palomino is a neo noir story set in Los Angeles and is all about the fabled country music scene in the 1980’s.
From the Dark Planet Press Release:
“At the center of PALOMINO is a unique father-daughter relationship. Eddie Lang’s an ex-cop turned working musician with big dreams, but dreams don’t pay the rent. So Eddie reluctantly works as a private investigator to provide for his teenage daughter, Lisette. Eddie and Lisette share an unbreakable bond and a dry sense of humor. But they’re stuck. They’re haunted by a terrible loss and an unsolved crime that looms large over their lives. They’re running out of time to fix their family. And just as things seem at a stalemate, a new murder case upends their lives.”
There is a trailer already up, and a long list of fantastic reviews already flooding twitter. I loved Silver when I got a chance to read it and I just know I’m going to love this as well. I jumped at the chance to be the one of us to get to share this fantastic news. Franck’s storytelling is chock full of emotion and depth and this story sounds like he is going to hit it out of the park again.
