Vox Machina is back in the riveting finale of Critical Role Vox Machina Origins Series II! It’s a race against the clock with the hopes of saving Grog from being transformed into the murderous lich Drath Mephrun. Will the help from their new allies be enough to bring Grog back to his lovable self?

Olivia Samson does it again with her beautiful art, masterfully balancing the small comedic moments in character expressions with the ominous colors throughout. You can feel the foreboding danger in every panel. Hunter Bonyun’s cover art lends to the sense of high stakes with his use of reds and blues.

Jody Houser has crafted a satisfying conclusion to this arc. While the climatic moment might be lackluster for some, this issue is able to balance charm and suspense. Considering readers who know Vox Machina will already know Grog’s fate, Houser gives the story as much suspense and tension as possible.

With the full cast of characters now together, there’s no telling what fans of Vox Machina can expect with these future comics. Because, yes, a series three is confirmed by the end of this issue. Like the first series, the conclusion of Critical Role Vox Machina Origins II will leave readers wanting more.
