It’s been a while since we have done a #FeatureFriday so today we’re bringing it back with Lilith Stargazer!

Welcome to Fangirl Nation Lilith! Why don’t you tell us when you started delving into Cosplay?

I think I did my first cosplay maybe 5 years ago. I haven’t had the time or money to put into each character as I would have liked, but I still love them. I think I had started seeing cosplayers at Cons and on Facebook a bit before then.

We’ve been around about the same time! I started 6 years back when I was floored by a post from Kamui Cosplay. Being a cosplayer can become expensive but I always think you can save by using found objects and transforming them as Cosplay is all about the creativity of a person. So what is your favorite cosplay theme and/or genre?

Hmm favorite theme or genre. That’s tough. I feel the ones I have done come from a somewhat wide range of universes and what I still want to do is also different.

I am ALL for wearing what sparks joy (yeah, yeah…Marie Kondo…) and jumping genres often does that for cosplayers. Do you buy or make your own cosplays?

I make my own cosplays. Sometimes I feel self concious that maybe they aren’t as good as some of the others because I don’t have a lot of money. I still want what I do to look authentic or real rather than plasticky so I try to make them using regular clothing items or what I can. Also I did a few cosplay burlesque acts and the clothes need to be something that represents the character well, but also that I can dance in.

Ooooo! Cosplay Burlesque sounds fun! I am a BIG proponent of cosplaying how you can. If that means using thrift store items or old clothes then go for it! Have you ever competed in cosplay?

I competed in the BMG Fan Fest in Albuquerque New Mexico. I had absolutely so much fun with it. I won the competition actually and was told it was because of how in character I got when I answered the questions.

Performance art is a skill all its own. I am STILL struggling with being on stage (no stage fright…I just don’t like all those people focused on lil ole me). So what is your cosplay style? What do YOU enjoy doing as a cosplayer?

My favorite thing is to participate in community events. I helped a community Christmas party once and also escorted families in to see drag story hour in Albuquerque. It’s fun to see how excited kids, or even kids at heart get when they see you.
