Return to the zombies of South Korea with the upcoming movie: Peninsula.
We return to South Korea four years after the major zombie blockbuster, Train to Busan. We watched the horror of the outbreak along with the commuters of the train heading to Busan. Thanks to a leakage from a science facility, wildlife and then people became infected with the scary virus. Once bitten, the bloodied citizens rapidly become ravenous, disjointed, fast zombies with focused need to feed!
Train to Busan may have been a constant ride of terror but it was a well mix of humor and heart. No matter how brief their screen time, audiences still connected to the characters making the deaths a pang of sadness and increasing hope for the leftover survivors.
After watching the trailer for Peninsula, whatever hope we had is obliterated as we see a much darker and twisted world for the remaining survivors. Even with the increasing number of zombies surrounding them, the remaining humans are still crazy and demented with their own need for control and survival. The sequel will definitely have a different vibe from Train to Busan.
Synopsis:

Peninsula is directed by Yeon Sang-Ho and will star Gang Dong-won (A Violent Prosecutor, Golden Slumber) , Lee Jung-hyun (Shall We Do It Again, Alice in Earnestland ). Lee Jung-hyun is also the legendary Kpop Idol, Ava, who has been credited with bringing techno and her unique style to the Kpop genre. Check out her music video for “V” here and enjoy!
Train to Busan can still be seen on Netflix. However, it will be re-released theatrically in North American in July 2020 with a glimpse of the glimpse. This will be dependent on the county regulations and COVID situation. If it is safely possible, the first viewing of the movie is highly recommended to view in theaters. It gives a whole encompassed atmosphere of horror.
Peninsula is scheduled for North American theater release on August 7, 2020.
