Z2 Comics has been focusing pretty heavily on music lately. Their most recent release will be Grateful Dead Origins, focusing on the infamous jam band. It explores the early days of Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Pigpen, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. From their early days performing in bars as the Warlocks to the foundation of their signature sound, Grateful Dead Origins is written by Chris Miskiewicz and illustrated by Noah Van Sciver.

The collectors edition will be pretty strictly limited, oversized and individuall numbered with exclusive prints and a vinyl LP of an unreleased recording from August 1968 at Filmore Street West in San Francisco. It’s available for preorder at: www.z2comics.com/shop/
The regular softcover edition will have exclusive downloads for rare selections from the early years of the band playing.
Grateful Dead Origins will be released August 4, 2020.
