Disney+ has announced their upcoming adaptation of the classic Anna Sewell novel Black Beauty, estimated to be released on the streaming service late this year. The book, and the film, follows a wild mustang from the American west named Black Beauty. The horse is taken from her family, and her story overlaps with that of Jo Green. Jo is 17-years old grieving the loss of her parents. The story follows their bond as they heal together. Kate Winslet voices Black Beauty, Mackenzie Foy plays Jo Green, Game of Throne’s Iain Glen plays John Manly, and Claire Forlani plays Mrs. Winthorp.
Look for Black Beauty this fall.
