A Quick And Easy Guide to Consent- A Review

Share

Consent is remarkably sexy and it is, unfortunately, something that not everyone understands. Luckily, there is now a guide for that. A Quick and Easy Guide to Consent by Isabella Rotman is here and as longtime readers will know: I love these guides. The consent edition is another one that I am absolutely in love with and advocating for. Before we go farther, this is where I have to say that this book is not intended for youths but I think teens should read this with some possible parental guidance and adults: yeah for sure, we should read this. There are mentions of sexy stuff and situations as we are dealing with consent. Another point worth bringing up that the book does is that this is not here to fix the world (oh how I wish one book could) nor is it here to cover specific state laws BUT this guide is here to make you a better person by helping you understand consent.

I cannot recommend this guide enough. It’s informative, to the point and most importantly to this non-binary deviant: orientation and gender inclusive. It’s also very clear in its approach to the importance of consent, which apparently society decided isn’t as clear as it really is. I absolutely love the frank conversation about such an important topic. There are many facets of consent covered from being in a bar to even discussing kink, which, thank you. Oh my gosh, thank you, for talking about how important consent is to the kink community and any healthy kinky relationship.

I love this guide and cannot recommend it enough. Thank you, Isabella, for helping us all to remember just how important it is to stop and take the time to ask: do I have consent to do this?

A Quick and Easy Guide to Consent will be available where books are sold on October 27, 2020.
