Pie Comics is getting another collection with Just Act Normal, releasing from Oni-Lion Forge Press on November 18, 2020. Artist John McNamee injured his shoulder way back when and it forced him to simplify his art style. Thus, Pie Comics was born. Sometimes funny, sometimes sarcastic, Pie Comics definitely makes the reader think. This is the third collection from Pie Comics.
Each section involves coping with something. These are thing like Coping with Childhood, Coping with Society Coping With the world, etc. Much of the individual entries are tongue-in-cheek. They aren’t mean spirited, but there are reoccurring characters like a depressed guy who just lays there. Sometimes the comic seems like it is preparing to make a major philosophical point, but quickly does a 180 change. No matter what the subject, the individual comics are entertaining.
Just Act Normal is available November 18, 2020.
