Today Artsploitation films announced the upcoming distribution of the film Sheep Without a Shepard to the US. The film premiered in China in 2019 and was a box offish smash. The film is a remake of a 2013 Indian film called Drishyam. The film stars Joan Chen, probably best known in the US for her role on Twin Peaks.

The film follows family man and self-described movie-geek who is thrown into a battle of wits with the law after his daughter accidentally kills a fellow student who was blackmailing her. The dead boy’s mother (Twin Peaks’ Joan Chen) is the morally “flexible” police chief determined to find her son’s killer.
