Your Smut Prince Returns! Yes, I am back and here with another Iron Circus comic that I have been dying to get my deviant hands on. Patience & Esther is right off the bat billed as an Edwardian romance filled with Sapphic delight so I get all the fancy clothes, lesbian action and so much diversity in body shapes, race and more. That’s right, this is Women Loving Women Hours.
I won’t spoil a thing here because really, just get the graphic novel. Have I ever pointed you in the wrong direction? But there are some things I want to point out that really had me sold. First is the body positivity: all shapes, sizes, colors and more are beautiful, sexy and valid in this graphic novel. Next up is the storytelling: the writer, S.W. Searle, knows their stuff. There are so many fun little references and allusions not to mention a romance that is about as rewarding of a slow burn as possible. There is drama without things being overly dramatic, there is romance without the saccharine.
Now, remember, just because this is a graphic novel doesn’t mean this is for children. This is 18+ and has shown explicit sexual material intended for adults.
