Welcome back to our weekly Kickstarter Round Up!!
Today we’re starting out with a bit of Punk! Electric Frankenstein’s Songs Come Alive as Comics! by Clover Press launches tomorrow, June 22nd.
100+ artists bring the hard rock punk band’s lyrics to comics!
Electric Frankenstein—where AC/DC meets the Dead Boys—asked over 100 artists to create short comics based on the lyrics of their songs. What was born was sometimes beautiful and poetic, but other times just downright disturbing and raw! Judgment will not be passed on what you gravitate towards! All lay between the covers of this book.
Next we have another campaign launching tomorrow, Candles by Lyndon White.
An original graphic novel about magic and monsters.
When a plague known as Dark-bark begins to spread over the land, infected villagers disappear into the enchanted forest never to be seen again. When it reaches her village, a young girl called Grace sets out to destroy the evil witch she knows is responsible, desperate to save her family by any means possible – even if that means she must break the greatest taboo of all and steal the witch’s magic. The latest project from independent publisher Cast Iron Books.
Keeping up with the art and fantasy theme, we have: Symbolist Fantasies and Other Things by P. Craig Russell.
Featuring complete graphic stories and stunning comic-book adaptations of songs and poems.
While appearing to be in black and white, each page has been scanned in color to recreate as closely as possible the experience of viewing the actual originals—including blue pencils, notes, art corrections and more. Pages are reproduced at original size on heavy paper stock to provide fans, aficionados and collectors with the best possible reproductions.
Next up we have something dark and creepy, which means you know I’m into it! Punch: The Second Coming by Allan Amato looks amazing.
Featuring contributions from Bill Sienkiewicz, David Mack, Jason Shawn Alexander, Jim Mahfood, Satine Phoenix, Jaw Cooper, and Stephanie Inagaki
An inconvenient guide to eternal damnation.
A heartbroken priest defies his faith and commits an unforgivable sin. He finds God and the Devil casting lots in a seedy bar for his eternal soul. There’s a bar fight between God’s infernal Virtues, the Hounds of Heaven, and the Devil’s seven deadly sins; survivors of the homicidal pogroms perpetrated by the One God against the many.
And last but not least, we have: Born Sexy Tomorrow by Very Very Bad Girls.
The collected edition of the hit Tapas series
Tongue firmly in cheek, BST is a self-aware space romp that flirts with well-known sci-fi tropes the way our hero flirts with anything with a pulse. It is a comedy universe in which dark forces are palpable, but Evil is always a little bit incompetent, and Good is kind of a mess. At the heart of it, it’s about finding a connection amongst the stars and learning to be a better person….even if you have to be dragged kicking and screaming all the way.
