‘Nothing But Blackened Teeth’ is Creative Horror at Its Finest

A haunted house resting on the bones of a dead woman in Japan is probably not the very best place for a wedding venue, but a group of thrill-seekers ignore the rumors of a ghost bride with the hope of getting a little scare. A young woman in the wedding party is also probably not in the best place, as she has a history with the groom and other members in the wedding party. As the night goes on, food and drinks give way to a ghost bride with a black smile and murderous mission.

Cassandra Khaw’s Nothing But Blackened Teeth is short, but the type of page turner that you’ll want to read in one sitting. Khaw’s  storytelling is creative, while still combining well-known Japanese haunting styles, Oni, and Yokai. I absolutely devoured this book.  The Japanese elements blend in seamlessly.

Nothing But Blackened Teeth is available October 19, 2021 from Tor Nightfire.
