Joey has finished law school. She’s done the finals and is prepared to start rubbing elbows with the wealthy of Crestfall Bluffs as she meets her boyfriend Astor’s family. The hometown seems perfect on the surface, but Joey immediately feel like something is wrong. Astor is in recovery, but all of his friends seem to be alcoholics really early in life. The staff all seems really scared of “retirement” and Astor’s parents are odd. Joey is invited to the retirement party of a family butler, but gets the feeling that she’s one of the only people who isn’t enjoying the party. When key figures of Crestfall Bluffs start to leave the party, Joey seems to be the only one who notices. She discovers something far creepier than she was expecting.
Author Sarah Gailey is one of my favorite writers, so I was hopeful for Eat the Rich #1. She didn’t let me down. This creepy comic is a wild ride, and we’re only on issue #1. Joey has found some pretty gut wrenching stuff in issue #1; enough to make anyone want to run.
