A week into December already? Good gracious, we are getting soooo close to closing out Pandemic Year #2 — and truly not a moment too soon. This is typically a pretty slow month in Kickstarter-land, but somehow we’ve still got an embarrassment of riches to share. Welcome back to our weekly Kickstarter Round Up!
Today we start off with, BPM: Beatdowns Per Minute #1 by Dave Cook & Steve Gregson.
A comic tribute to retro beat-’em-up games, starring cops fighting a crime syndicate in 1993, from the writer of Killtopia.
BPM is the first Team Beats project, and it stars two martial-arts cops — the hot-headed Maya Wickburn and her jaded friend Rick Diavola — as they fight to crush an evil crime syndicate in Stone City during one crazy night of action in 1993. Along with their butt-kicking friends from the Belt Action Dojo, Maya and Rick uncover the syndicate’s evil plot to unleash a strange new drug onto the streets of Stone City: a mysterious substance that reacts to music, called BPM.
Next up we got, A Frog in the Fall by Linnea Sterte.
A 330+ page comic about a frog, and a reprint of the sci-fi comic Stages of Rot, published by Peow.
A young frog (hatched this spring) encounters two toads, who have captured the ghost of a Shungiku flower that withered and died just recently. The spirit yearns for the tropics and so do the two toads. The frog decides to follow them on their journey south. It’s a slice of seasonal life for a frog who experiences everything for the first time. Along the way, the frog has encounters with mice, cats, dogs, trees, persimmons, and other beings. Lessons are learned, and thoughts are exchanged. A meditative road trip, a contemplation on life in general.

(Artificial General Intelligence Neural Earth Systems). A.G.I.N.E.S. has brought stability and balance to the planet, but not everybody has embraced her methods. Some humans refuse to join and wage war on A.G.I.N.E.S. The damage they inflict on A.G.I.N.E.S. is insignificant, but catastrophic to Earth…
