Brighton Hills is a seemingly perfect HOA community on the Oregon Coast. With expensive houses and giant backyards, it definitely doesn’t look like the site of a violent hit and run. Paige is obsessed with finding out who killed her son with their car and left him to die. Her neighbor and best friend, Cora, has done her best to be comforting, but with her suspicions that her husband Finn is cheating on her, Cora’s attention has been fleeting. Paige offers to find proof that Finn is cheating to show Cora just who her friend really is. In the process, they begin to find out more about their seemingly reclusive neighbor, Georgia, and her secrets.
Seraphina Nova Glass has written one of the most unique and interesting thrillers I’ve read so far this year, and I read a great deal of thrillers. As readers begin to unravel Georgia’s story they may find themselves gasping for breath. I found myself wincing and verbally saying things like “you’re in serious danger” while reading this book. Paige, Georgia, and Cora, all feel like real women and the reader finds themselves rooting for them and holding their breath until the very last page.
