Today, Archie comics released the stand alone comic Strange Science. This horror comic is written by Magdalene Visaggio, with art by Butch Mapa and Ellie Wright. The comic features Archie’s first transgender character.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The story’s horrific happenings surround a deeply moving tale of transition and becoming, the pain of letting go of the past, and the relief of finding yourself in the present. What Magdalene has pulled off here is really something to behold! She deftly mixes genres to give us a heart-thumping monster battle, a dimension-hopping lost-in-time thriller, and a gently introspective emotional gut punch all at the same time. Simply put, it’s Archie’s most compelling release of the year, hands down, and you can’t miss it.
