Disney+ and BBC announced last year that they would be bringing Doctor Who to a global audience, but with varying rumors of which streaming services gets to stream which episodes and for how long, that global audience has been waiting for additional details on the actual Doctor Who annviersary special. Today, Disney+ announced the release dates for the three Doctor Who 60th Anniversary specials. Episode one, The Star Beast, comes to Disney+ on November 25th. Episode two, Wild Blue Yonder, comes out December 2nd. Rounding out the three is The Giggle, set for streaming on December 9th.
For those fans currently hiding under a rock, David Tennant has returned (we aren’t even going to try to figure out the Doctor numbering system at this point) for the special, along with fan favorite Catherine Tate as Donna Temple-Noble. We also get the insanely talented Neil Patrick Harris as The Toymaker. Joining them are Yasmin Finney as Rose Temple-Noble, Miriam Margolyes as the voice of the Meep, Ruth Madeley as Shirley Anne Bingham, Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble, Karl Collins as Shaun Temple, and Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart.
Let the countdown begin.
