Jill Estrada just wants life to return to normal. When her mother disappeared, Jill stayed close to home with her father and lost track of her closest friends in the process. Now desperate to get back to her life, she’s discovered her friends are obsessed with a true-crime subscription game called Box Killers. The game is tailored to match the life of the player, but Jill’s box seems almost too real. It is filled with details of a local missing person, and the clues just so happen to lead to an actual body.
Jill and the Killers looks at the obsession with true crime and the desensitization of how we deal with violence in general. The first issue of four is 48-pages and does an excellent job of setting everything up. Jill and the Killers is written by Olivia Cuartero-Briggs with art by Roberta Ingranata.
