For those who prefer to keep a little horror in their holidays, this is the perfect companion for those cold and creepy nights. The collection features short stories from Tananrive Due, Stephen Graham Jones, Christopher Golden, Josh Malerman and Garth Nix.
With the names alone, I knew I was going to be off to a good start. What followed were pages filled with stories of bizarre missing scarecrows, creatures that must be kept contained by prayers for Epiphany, and a true variety of religious celebrations and the frightening traditions surrounding them. We get to see Christmas in Australia, Hannukah, and even Festivus (for the rest of us).
Christmas and Other Horrors is a spooky delight, and one I’m definitely counting as a Solstice present.
