‘Rare Flavours’ is a Graphic Novel Mixing Food Documentaries and a Human-Eating Demon

Share

Rubin Baksh is a demon. Okay, he’s a Rakshasa and he’s obsessed with food. When Anthony Bourdain (yes, that Tony Bourdain) dies, Rubin decides that he must be the next great food documentarian. He enlists the help of Mo, a former filmmaker who quit making films after his mother passed away. The money is good and he’s in desperate need, so Mo gives in and agrees to travel India with Rubin documenting chefs and their signature dishes. What Mo doesn’t see are the two demon-hunters following them, or the path of chef corpses Rubin is leaving behind.

Ram V and Filipe Andrade team up for this gorgeously colorful graphic novel, complete with recipes and the unsettling feeling that the reader is one meal away from the end. Rare Flavours collects issues #1-6 of the same name into one hardcover (or digital) format.

Rare Flavours is now available from BOOM! Studios.
