If you’re preparing for New York Comic Con 2025 (NYCC), keep an eye out for the first-ever Indian-themed panel in NYCC history and the premiere of the new psychological thriller Mala. The screening occurs Saturday October 11, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm in room 409 of the Javits Center. The panel will feature the mother-daughter producing team, Indigo and Nisha Sabharwal, as well as a panel with the cast. The debut promises exclusive giveaway items for those attending the panel.
Mala follows Reema, a young woman who unexpectedly inherits an abandoned resort after her aunt’s untimely death. Accompanied by three of her friends, they arrive to find strange rites, uncomfortable omens, and enough strange locals to make them believe Reema’s aunt’s death was far from an accident. Reema finds herself confronting a spiritual awakening and the dark truth behind her family, all in the name of survival.
