Creator and illustrator Cathon’s new slice-of-life graphic novel, Fruit Salad, comes to stores November 4, 2025 from Quebec’s Pow Pow comics. The collection features simple black and white panel comics featuring Cathon’s own life and observations. Whether it is the never-ending stream of brown bananas stored in the freezer for the future potential of delicious banana bread, acquiring snow pants to wear everywhere, or the secrets of a perfect Girl’s Night, Fruit Salad is hilarious. One of my personal favorite panels shows Cathon trying to draw after using her asthma inhaler.
Fruit Salad was originally written in French but has been translated into English for a wider audience.
