Alamo Drafthouse knows how to truly commit to the bit. They’ve announced an exclusive menu and partnership with Prime Video for a one-night special event premiering the first two episodes of the new series Spider-Noir, starring Nic Cage. Before the first season comes to the streaming platform on May 27th, fans can get a sneak peak of the first two episodes on the big screen at select Alamo Drafthouse locations in NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Raleigh, and Austin on May 25th.
The screenings have a “moody 1930s” themed menu, designed for the high contrast look of black-and-white films. Here’s how Alamo Drafhouse describes the menu:
Guests can dig into Popcorn Noir, a darkly seasoned twist on a theater staple, or The City Dog, an all-beef frank built for late nights and bad decisions. From the bar, the Black Manhattan and Dark & Stormy offer cocktails as brooding and layered as the characters on screen. Finish off your meal with the Blackout Malt: vanilla ice cream blended with Oreos and Whoppers, and topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
For those not familiar yet with the upcoming show, it stars Nic Cage as Ben Reilly, a down on his luck PI in 1930s New York. As the one and only superhero in the city, he has to “grapple with his past” following a “personal tragedy.” The cast also features Brendan Gleeson, Jack Huston, Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, and Karen Rodriguez. For those attending the screening on Los Angeles, Morris and Huston will be on hand for a post-screening Q&A.
