Legendary performer Johnny Cash wasn’t just anyone. Along with writer Billy Zeoli, Johnny Cash wrote a comic himself and financed its production so he would be able to share his message with young audiences. With a cover by Arche Comics legend Al Hartley, the comic was iconic but disappeared shortly after publication in 1976. Johnny Cash presents his life as a cautionary tale, embracing the comic format to share a very personal story.
Thanks to Z2 Comics, the 1976 comic is coming back with a faithful reproduction of the comic book, along with an interview with John Carter Cash and comics historian Alex Segura. There are also variant coversa available from comic legends Chip Kid and Tim Bradstreet. The comics coms to stores on September 23, 2026.
