Finish Out Spooky Season With ‘The Hammer Horror Omnibus’

Author John Burke’s original adaptations of four Hammer Horror classics haunt the book The Hammer Horror Omnibus.  The collection features the novelizations of the classic films The Gorgon, The Curse of Frankenstein, The Revenge of Frankenstein and The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb.  TV showrunner Stephen Gallagher opens the collection discussing a love of film novelizations; a reminder of the film you had just seen, at a time when it was not so easy to just press play on Netflix. The book also features an afterward by British horror writer Ramsey Campbell.

Author John Burke was contracted by a publisher with Pan Books in the 1960s to take popular films and turn them into novelizations for quick cash.  The Hammer Horror Omnibus keeps the changes in the novelizations, which were based on the scripts and not the finished film. Here you’ll find names later changed and scenes cut from the final film. The collection is great for fans of classic Hammer Horror films or those who just want to review a little piece of history without spending a fortune on Ebay.

The Hammer Horror Omnibus is now available from Titan Books.
