Rebel Wolves’ new game Blood of Dawnwalker is an open world dark fantasy RPG set in late 1300’s Eastern Europe. You play as Coen, a young man who is human by day, vampire by night, and under a time limit to save his family from destruction. Titan Books has released the new hardcover art book The Blood of Dawnwalker: The Art of the Game for fans of video game art and learning how the game came together.Written by Matthew Pellett, the book gathers concept art, behind the scenes planning, and information from the team at Rebel Wolves on how they brought the game to light.
The Blood of Dawnwalker: The Art of the Game is detailed, explaining just how much research went into the creation of the game, and the world in which realistic design elements meet the undead and bizarre creatures. From undead nuns accidentally cursed as undead daily repeating their chores after a ritual went wrong, to a vampire sire steadily being eaten by kobolds, there are a lot of dark elements in play with the game and the book certainly does not shy away from them. The artwork is stunningly detailed. If you’re quite squeamish there will be sections of the book you should probably skip. For lovers of dark fantasy, particularly dark fantasy video games, the book is filled with gorgeous art pieces, including that of the manipulated religious art featured in the game.
The Blood of Dawnwalker: The Art of the Game is now available from Titan Books.
