Whether you’re heading out for Thanksgiving or just plotting the journey home for the Holidays, you’re probably thinking about your transportation. The new company Turo got us thinking about what we’d like to drive, and we came up with a list of our favorite options. Their San Francisco-based service allows you to borrow cars, giving you a chance to try out some of your dreams. For example, you can rent the Aviato Escape from the show Silicon Valley or the Wagon Queen Family Truckster modeled from the National Lampoon Vacation Movies. Can you imagine having a true Griswold family Christmas?
Here are a few dream cars we’d love to drive this holiday:
“Baby” from Supernatural
While Dean Winchester on Supernatural would probably beat us to a pulp for getting behind the wheel of his 1967 Chevy Impala, I know I’ve personally always wanted to drive the Family Business vehicle of choice. It also doesn’t hurt that the back is loaded with demon-fighting weaponry and partnered with a killer music playlist. Fake FBI identification optional.
Flying Ford Anglia
Mr. Weasley, I’d love to commission a car from you. While the Ford Anglia isn’t necessarily a fan favorite when on the road, when given the chance to fly under the direction of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley this is one heck of a car. Too bad we lost it to the Whomping Willow.
Spike’s 1959 DeSoto Fireflite
On Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Spike drove his 1959 Desoto Fireflite over the Sunnydale sign and I was hooked. While he’s made some modifications- such as blacking out his windows from the sun- the car still manages to be pretty awesome and look terrible at the same time.
The Mystery Machine
Like, Wow Scoob, we’ve coveted this van since childhood. Let’s go solve a mystery with more than enough room to fit the whole gang.
Ecto One
Whether you loved or hated the new Ghostbusters, you’ve got to admit that any incarnation of Ecto 1 would be an absolute blast to drive. Add on some weird European emergency sirens and watch people get out of your way in NYC.
