No One Left to Fight #1

Vale defeated his planet’s sworn enemy. He worked with a team of heroes (Krysta and Timor) to defend the weak from evil. Now that the peoples’ greatest threat is gone…what is a hero to do? On the anniversary of defeating the great Despo, Vale decides he wants to visit the crater where it all went down. He encounters old enemies turned friends, bosom companions and a friend who could be an enemy along the way. With his purpose completed, what is a retired Hero to do? To make matters worse, Vale is suffering from an affliction that causes weakness and unconsciousness…not exactly something a Hero wants to admit to.

Written by Aubrey Sitterson with Art by Fico Ossio, this Dark Horse Publication discusses the inevitable future of all Super Heroes. It shows how tensions can rise among former friends in the absence of enemies. It reveals what former defenders of the world face as they age and become history.

Issue #1 was certainly short but the art work is hip, new and refreshing. Although we don’t have much of the story yet there is enough in the context clues hidden in the conversations to explain that the world of No One Left To Fight literally has no enemies. It’s a vibrant comic that I look forward to following. Look for it in stores and online July 3rd, 2019.
