What if magic was the reason for all the chaos in the seedy world of 1930s Chicago? Tommy Gun Wizards imagines a world where Elliot Ness went after those who use an elixir to give them magic, rather than run of the mill crime bosses. In this world, Al Capone is responsible for something called “Lick” which allows people to posses special powers or heighten their abilities. Capone uses magic to change his face and get his way. However, there are some wizards far more dangerous than Al Capone.
The series from writer Christian Ward is just getting started, and it’s being drawn by Sami Kivela. Fantastic Beasts this comic is not. The language is foul and the violence is quite active. Characters have developed special powers by using the “Lick” and can do some pretty weird stuff.
Tommy Gun Wizards issue #1 is available now, with issue #2 available August 28, 2019.
