Camp Wedding is Wicked Fun

Mia is going to have a camp-themed wedding, Bride Boheme is going to film it, and it’s pretty obvious she’s gone full Pinterest crazy on her friends. The camp she booked on AirBnB has an excessively storied past. Not one was there a failed religious experiment; not only did a girl get struck by lighting and drown; not only were there witch trials that ended in burning; this camp was also the site of an Indian massacre. The sign that greets the community is full of super harsh rules, specifically outlawing technology. With the entire group being tech obsessed, it doesn’t take long for the hashtags to start flying; only they are attached to photos on Instagram outlining a supposed sin being committed. With Mia’s friends starting to disappear one by one, this wedding looks like it might not survive the night.

I have now seen a cult-appropriated Teddy Ruxpin and I am forever changed. Camp Wedding has a great sense of humor, especially when riffing on horror movie tropes.  Full confession? I was not expecting the acting and production values to be as great as they were. Each actor brings a killer (no pun intended) performance to the film, leaving the viewer laughing and also wondering who will be caught next. In a world full of movies that focus on gore or the gross out factor, it was delightful to see practical effects and just sit back and enjoy a film, rather than attempt to survive it.  Camp Wedding is a delight, and a must watch for the end of Summer.

Camp Wedding comes to DVD August 20th, but you can preorder it now.
