‘Ronin Island’ Volume One

Share

After a devastating event destroys wide swathes of people in Japan, Korea, and China during the 19th century, two newly-trained soldiers find their peaceful item overrun by the leftovers of a Shogunate and mutated creatures. Hanna and Kenichi have never gotten along. Hanna is Korean, poor, and lives alone. Kenichi is wealthy and is known for having a father who was a hero. With the sudden horrors on their previously peaceful island, the two have to team up to protect what is left of their people and the island that they love.

Greg Pak’s story is engaging for both older children and adults. The gorgeous artwork in this collection is done by Giannis Milonogiannis, with beautiful coloring by Irma Kniivila. For those who want a story with multiple Asian cultural stories and styles combined with a fascinating story, Ronin Island Volume One is excellent.

The first volume of BOOM! series Ronin Island Volume One is now available in comic book stores, book stores coming December 10, 2019.
