Today Bad Idea announced they plan to come to select comic book stores in May 2020. The plan is to release a limited number of series at any given time with about 1-2 single issues per month. Their mantra:
“Don’t do anything unless it’s special.”
The Bad Idea line features A-level comic writers and artists at the standard cover price of $3.99. These comics will have no variants, will not be offered digitally, and will not be put into collected trades, hardcovers or formats.
The first release will be ENIAC, a series from Matt Kindt of Folklords and Mind MGMT, and artwork from Doug Braitwaite of Justice. Future comics will come from writers like Mae Catt from Young Justice, Joshua Dysart of Unknown Solider and Harbinger, Artists Tomas Giorello, Lewis LaRose, Adam Pollina and Robert Venditti.
At this time, there are 20 carefully selected comic book stores who will release the comics, with the goal being 50 by the end of their first year.
