The show Inside Amy Schumer now has all four seasons on DVD in one collection. As you can probably tell from the title, this is a sketch comedy show written and directed by Amy Schumer. It also included some of her standup and interviews with people on the street. Inside Amy Schumer is definitely not for everyone. Some of her sense of humor is crass and crude, but her sense of social commentary can at times be incredibly funny.
The “Generations” sketch about getting your racist older relatives to learn how to communicate with other people is laugh out loud funny. The one sketch of a special photographer for selfies. With parodies of I Survived, Hooters and others, the series is full of self-deprecation, jokes about dating, and insights into what it’s like to be a woman around 2013-2015, there are moments that are hysterical and some that…wouldn’t quite hold up today. For example, rape jokes are definitely not funny. Much of the content is sexual, so definitely not something to watch with kids in the room.
If you are a big fan of Amy Schumer, this collection is a must have. If you are iffy on Amy Schumer or don’t care for her humor, this collection might not be for you.
