New offerings from Black Mask

Over the next few weeks, Black Mask is releasing two new series that look to expand their ever growing punk rock style of comics. To date Black Mask has supported their creators telling awesome and important stories

The first series I’m excited about is Destiny, NY.

What if there was a magical prophecy that you were destined to save the world, and you fulfilled it so young you don’t know what to do with the rest of your life?

That’s the problem facing Logan McBride in Destiny, NY, the ongoing comic book series launching in March 2021.

Together, writer Pat Shand (Black Mask’s SNAP FLASH HUSTLE), artist Manuel Preitano (DC Comics’ THE ORACLE CODE), and cover artists Elisa Romboli (upcoming ALICE IN LEATHERLAND), Terry Moore (STRANGERS IN PARADISE), and Rosi Kämpe (SPIDER-GWEN) have created a grounded story about the magic of young adulthood, star-crossed modern romance, delayed coming of age, and finding your place in a world too busy to notice you.

The Destiny, NY ongoing series will launch with a double-sized first issue on March 31, 2021.

And then in June, comes Everfrost from writer Ryan K Lindsay.

All scientist-warrior Van Louise wanted was to retire and get off-planet as her society collapsed, but she’s unearthed a mystery involving the death of her son… and she can’t leave without discovering the truth first–even as war brews in her violent and fantastical world.

That’s the situation facing our hero in Everfrost, the comic book series launching in June 2021.

Together, writer Ryan K Lindsay (ETERNAL, NEGATIVE SPACE) and artist Sami Kivelä (ABBOTT, UNDONE BY BLOOD), who previously co-created Black Mask’s 2017 breakout BEAUTIFUL CANVAS together, now joined by colorist Lauren Affe (THE WITCHER, STRANGER THINGS) and letterer Jim Campbell (THE WILDS, WE CAN NEVER GO HOME), have created an emotionally resonant tale of sci-fi insanity and heartbreaking emotion.

Everfrost will launch in June 2021.
