And it’s Monday again, so that means it’s time to talk Kickstarter!
We got a good batch today, and I am starting it off with one of my personal favorite things.
Time to bring Bitty’s senior year at Samwell to print—and this series to its end.
Bitty’s senior year is filled with drama. Not only must he lead his hockey team to a national championship while adjusting to life as an openly queer athlete—he finally has to confront his family about who he is. It’s the fourth and final Kickstarter for Check, Please!, a New York Times–bestselling graphic novel and online comic about hockey, college, and the frequent baking of pies.
Cartoonist Ngozi Ukazu says, “When I launched my first ever Kickstarter in 2015, I had no idea what Check, Please! would turn out to be. Not only is the comic now a New York Times bestselling series, but subsequent self-publishing campaigns have been some of the highest funded publishing Kickstarters ever.
Check, Please! follows Eric “Bitty” Bittle as he navigates four years of college at Samwell University, falls in love, and faces his fears. Next up is Tuki by Jeff Smith – which launches tomorrow.

There is also, Comrade Himbo – Comic hunks for the proletariat! edited by CC Calanthe. Which just has me giggle-snorting. The tagline is just hilarious.

Comrade Himbo is a 130+ page comics and illustration anthology full of pure-intentioned himbos of all genders. This book is a lovingly crafted, all-art manifesto on the strength of community: 10 black & white comics and 9 full-color illustrations from 22 up-and-coming creators.
And lastly, we got Kokou by Ziki Nelson.
A dark fantasy/horror graphic novel that is deeply rooted in African mythological traditions from all over the continent.
A lone warrior wages war against a group of supernatural beings known as ‘The Djinn’ in order to prove himself as the strongest of all. These powerful beings can only be taken down by one thing: one of their own.
