I am thrilled to announce the Comedy Central’s Drunk History is now available in as a complete series on DVD. Yes, the series that taught history with drunk comedians and famous figures is now available in an 11-disc set featuring all 72 episodes. Check out folks like Lin-Manuel Miranda, David Harbour, Tiffany Haddish and Bill Hader telling stories about history you likely have never heard of. Want to know how Elvis ended up with a badge to bust narcotics? Ever heard of the FBI trying to bring down Martin Luther King Jr during the Civil Rights era? For those who weren’t obsessed, the premise is fairly simple: a comedian meets up with host Derek Waters and they drink. Then, the comedian tells a story from history and other actors recreate the scene, using the comedian’s voice as a guide. This sometimes leads to random characters barking like a dog, or someone falling over.
One of my personal favorite episode discusses how Halloween became such a big deal in the United States, and we even get Will Ferrell involved when it comes to telling the story of Mary Shelley.

Drunk History was definitely not a show for people avoiding alcohol or sensitive to language and some pretty insane history. However, for those with a twisted sense of humor and an obsession with weird history it was amazing.
While I am heartbroken this series ended, I’m thrilled to have all 6 seasons in box set form and have been powering through them in the background.
