Marion Blackwood’s new book Ruthless Villains is the perfect book for readers who like their books morally gray and smutty. In short, this book showed up at just the right time.
Audrey Sable is a poison mage, and she can bring people to her feet by just pressing her hands together. She’s a dark mage and has spent a great deal of her life trying to stay alive after escaping “her graduation” ceremony. Callan Blackwell is a powerful dark mage who would love to see Audrey beg for mercy and then die. The two are content to just keep trying to kill the other, but when the city they escaped from launches a plan to wipe out the remaining six dark mages, they two turn out to be the only mages able to blend into society and kidnap the one figure that may bind all of their power. The two have to fight their desires to kill the other one for just long enough to destroy the city’s plans and do their best not to fall for each other in the process.
Ruthless Villains is an absolute blast if you enjoy watching enemies almost kill each other. Please keep in mind that this book is not innocent and itis definitely not trying to be. I’m excited to know that this is about to become a series.
