Disney+ has released two exclusive sneak peeks at the upcoming docuseries Marvel 616. The series looks into Marvel stories, characters, and creators, and how they work together. The series is anthology style, meaning each episode gets a unique filmmaker exploring storytelling, fandom, and pop culture from Marvel. There’s also a a look into the women of Marvel Comics and lesser known characters.
The first clip is from the episode “Higher, Further, Faster” directed by Gillian Jacobs. It focuses on the female trailblazers of Marvel and how they tell stories that increase inclusion and representation for women.
This second clip is from the episode Lost and Found, directed by Paul Sheer, and looking at “forgotten” Marvel characters,
Also, look out for the panel A Look Inside Marvel 616 Thursday July 23, at 1:00pm PST on the Comic-Con Youtube. The panel will feature Gillian Jacobs, Paul Sheer, Sarah Amos, and Jason Sterman, and will be moderated by Angelique Roche, the host of Marvel’s Voices and The Women of Marvel Podcasts.
