The Testament of Ann Lee has already won multiple awards and nominations on the film festival circuit. For those not familiar with the Shakers, they were a religious movement that rejected cultural norms of the day to embrace gender and social equality. The film is directed by Mona Fastvold, and in addition to Amanda Seyfried the film stars Thomasin Mckenzie, Lewis Pullman, and Stacy Martin.
